26th October 2014
Windsurfing: Felixstowe Fludyers
Wind Direction: SW
Wind Stength: F2-4
Surf / Sea State: Lumpy
Air Temperature: Cool
Sea Temperature: cool
Weather: cloudy
Max Speed: 23.1 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 10.1 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Sailed with Chris Swainey and his young lad at Fludyers. Drove to dip and saw Roger and Peter/Sally vans but it was offshore so went to Fludge.
Chris rigged 9.x and a biggish board, wind was cross on and that kit looked a bit big. He planed OK and I thought 7.5 but he said 8.5 would be OK.
Swainey turned up and blasted off the beach on 8.2. I did the same on 8.6 but went too broad trying to stay on the plane and lost all the groynes and was on the point.
Tried several beats way out to sea to get back at the toilets. I kept landing at the last bay as the wind was up and down.
The wind freshened and the tide must have been running, as I lost even more ground some just let rip to the dip for the long walk of shame.
Left the gear at the dip after a nice reach in and just started to walk when Rog was at the entrance. He gave me a lift back to the van for the trailer.
Cheers Rog yet again.
The boys kept an eye but knew I would do the dip. Its not a bad walk along the prom. (done it a few times now )
Both Chris and Swainey didn’t have issues staying high so I must concentrate staying high more, or lose weight .
It’s interesting cos when I sailed 3 times well out to sea and turned I seemed to be heading very high for the pier, but as I approached the point, the tide / wind force me to bear off and lose ground, in the light wind.
Should have landed at the last bay which was an option instead of trying for the toilets. Lesson learned 
You lot didn’t miss much although Chris and Swainey had a good sail on big kit.
Think I might have cocked up. I sold all my big sails with cams for all rotational. The size 8.6 rotational (without cams) is very unstable! Am used to locked centre of effort with cams, but this kept moving all over the place when I hit gusts! I tried the Pryde mast in it, which is the total opposite shape, so I hope thats the reason! Some twot left the steam room door open so home early aaarrrggghhh! Bad day....
Might try Monday......
